Description
As part of the collaboration with the Laboratório de Estudos Literários Avançados (ELAB), the foundation was laid for a digital edition of the editorial projects and publications of the Portuguese author Fernando Pessoa (1888–1935); Ulrike Henny was responsible for this at the CCeH. She continues to edit the edition, together with Pedro Sepúlveda (Lisbon) and Jorge Uribe (Medellín). Since the end of the project phase, in which the CCeH was directly involved, the cooperation has also been extended to the EAFIT University in Medellín (Colombia). Above all, handwritten notes, lists and plans with which Pessoa conceived his work are edited. These will be juxtaposed with his works published during his lifetime in order to trace the development of Pessoa’s oeuvre between planning and publication. The edition contains text transcriptions in TEI, facsimiles, indexes of persons, journals and titles, as well as various visualizations of the data (timelines and a network of persons). Technically, the edition is based on an eXist database and uses XQuery and XSLT scripts as well as JavaSript to create the publication. The digital edition is hosted by the DCH. Further information on the Estranhar Pessoa framework project, which has been running since mid-2013, can be found at http://estranharpessoa.com/.
