We congratulate and warmly welcome Dr. Elisa Cugliana who has started her junior professorship for “Digital Humanities with special consideration of digital editions” on 1 November 2023. The Academy Junior Professorship was established in cooperation between the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Cologne and the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts.
Elisa Cugliana studied at the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice and completed her doctorate as part of a cotutelle program between Venice and Cologne. She is currently working on the philology of Germanic languages and (digital) editing. Her research interests include travel literature and the genre of loose-leaf books as well as methodological aspects such as the formalization and operationalization of the editorial workflow. Her appointment strengthens the expertise in digital editing and digital philology in the Digital Humanities Coordination Office of the Akademie NRW at the CCeH and in teaching at the Institute for Digital Humanities.
