Between October 13 and 15, 2021, an international conference on Fernando Pessoa will take place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon and online. During these three days, the work of the Portuguese author will be discussed from numerous perspectives (in Portuguese), also with regard to digital editions and archives.

One of the digital editions of Pessoa, which is available at pessoadigital.pt, was developed between 2014 and 2016 in a collaboration between the CCeH and the University of Lisbon and has been continuously updated and maintained ever since (see the CCeH project page).

One of the lectures dedicated to the topic of digital Pessoa editions will be given by Ulrike Henny-Krahmer, former staff member and visiting scholar at the CCeH. In her presentation on “Arquivos e edições digitais de Fernando Pessoa”, she compares the four existing digital archives and editions on Pessoa (Arquivo Pessoa, Fausto Digital, Arquivo LdoD, pessoadigital.pt) and examines to what extent and in what way they follow a digital paradigm in their conception and how they move between scientific archive and edition.

In another lecture by Manuel Portela on the topic “”De que me serve reler?” Um modelo computacional da receção crítica do Livro do Desassossego”, a new partial corpus of the digital edition Arquivo LdoD (Archive of the Book of Disquiet) is presented, which contains essays, prefaces and reviews of the Book of Disquiet and on the basis of which the critical reception of the work is examined with computer support.

All presentations at the conference can be followed on YouTube. Further information on the event can be found on the Casa Fernando Pessoa website.
