The position is to be filled as part of the DFG-funded research project “Materi-A-Net: Material as an actor in the transcultural networks between France and Germany in the late Middle Ages and early modern period”. The project is managed by Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Lipińska (Institute of Art History, University of Cologne). This is a position with a focus on digital humanities.

Your tasks

  • Design and implementation of the common data model
  • Provision of the working environment
  • Development of the presentation interface

Your profile

  • a completed university degree (B.A. / M.A.) in the field of Digital Humanities or in a discipline related to the humanities or computer science with a proven interest in the respective other subject group
  • Familiarity with data modeling
  • Programming skills in the field of data processing and web technologies
  • Familiarity with information and database systems
  • the willingness to familiarize yourself with established workflows and the tech stacks used

Another advantage would be

  • Experience with graph databases
  • Knowledge of CIDOC-CRM
  • Experience in front-end web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
  • Experience with linked open data, standard data linking

The position is to be filled from 01.11.2022 or later in part-time with 19.92 hours per week (subject to pending approval, the scope of the position can be increased to 65%). The position is to be filled for a limited period of 36 months. Provided that the relevant collective agreement and personal requirements are met, remuneration is based on pay group 13 TV-L .
