Description

The Cologne Papyrus Collection, which has existed since the 1950s and has been funded by the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts (AWK NRW) since 1972, is one of the largest and most important collections of literary and documentary papyri in Germany. As part of AWK’s digitization efforts, the Arbeitsstelle für Papyrologie is cooperating with the CCeH since 2013 to develop a sustainable data model, a virtual working environment, an online database and a digital publication of the collection. The Cologne Papyrus Portal, which emerged from the cooperation, has been online since 2017 and offers a searchable catalog of around 3500 objects to date, containing around 4000 published and unpublished texts.

WörterListen sub-project: http://papyri.uni-koeln.de/papyri-woerterlisten/

The WörterListen (WL) are an aid for Greek papyrology, i.e. for the discipline of classical antiquity studies that deals with the edition and analysis of papyri (and other written media) written in Greek (and partly also in Latin) in Egypt between about 300 BC and 700 AD. The WörterListen have been maintained by Dieter Hagerdorn since 2000 and published regularly as PDF files. Since 2017, the WörterListen have been available as a web application developed by CCeH with comprehensive search options (see the information from our old website: http://cceh.uni-koeln.de/legacy/2017/10/31/pwl/). The underlying data is published in regularly updated versions as open access on GitHub (https://github.com/cceh/papyri-wl-data) and zenodo.org.

For project participants in the WörterListen sub-project, see https://papyri.uni-koeln.de/papyri-woerterlisten/ueber.
