With the support of Competence Area III(CA3) and the Center for Data and Simulation Science(CDS), IDH, CCeH and DCH are now organizing the “Deep Learning for Language Analysis” Summer School for the fourth year.

This year’s edition will take place online from 30.08.-03.09.2021 .

The Summer School is aimed at Master’s students and doctoral candidates from linguistics and digital humanities, but also from all other fields that deal with the application of machine learning methods. Participants can choose between two alternative tracks:

  • Deep Learning with Audio & Speech Data (Paul Wallbott, Fraunhofer IAIS)
  • Text analysis with deep learning(Nils Reiter, IDH)

Following the two parallel tracks, a hands-on course on Natural Language Processing will be offered by the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute. An additional certificate can be acquired here.

At the end of the Summer School, there will also be a panel session on practical applications of machine learning with short presentations and a subsequent panel discussion. The panelists will be announced shortly. This event will also be accessible without registering for the summer school.
